i have just been reading some previous threads about russells quotes.. it is possible to get hold of reprints of all six of russells studies in the scriptures.
1. the divine plan of the ages.
2. the time is at hand.

someone among the top brass in brooklyn have had a rare moment of thought and come up with another adjustment in the endless line watchtower society new light.. some of you probably remember when they became tired of the expression: the society says, which of course identified to clearly who is really god in the lives of the witnesses, so they had to tell the witnesses to stop using that expression because it was extremely embarrassing.. this time it is another expression that shouldnt be used.
not at all of the magnitude of the example above but still sufficiently important to someone, probably in the gb.
i guess it took a couple of heated sessions in the gb to get this approved.

I love those passages in the Old Testament where God Thunders to Moses:
"Stand back from this Assembly that I might exterminate them in an instant". (His "justice" aspect?, speaking)
Moses says "Uh ,Jehovah, If you do that the Pharoah will laugh and say, 'Their God brought them into the wilderness to destroy them' ".
Jah responds, "Oh Thats right.Okay. I'll just kill some of them then".
(Gods "mercy"aspect?)
But then its not Gods mercy there is it?. Moses thought of it.
I mean, Jah needs reminding of such an obvious point?
Its not "mercy" anyway, rather self interest on Gods part and concern for the Appearance of His own Name in the eyes of Pharoah.
Obviously God must be learning and growing in awareness as he goes along in his dealing with mankind.
But if that is so, then how can he be claimed as perfect?

Yeah, Im trying to fish what the Golden Age of the WT was like from you guys. Get a picture.
Its something of an unknown period. I mean, noone on an apostate site ever quotes a 40s or 50s Watchtower, So I assume it must have been a period of relative stagnation when little change in doctrine was made. Little revelation came forth. Except of course, as you say, the blood doctrine was dreamt up then...something I didnt know.
Maybe Nathan Knorr had a gutfull of change and infighting under "Uncle Joe" and thought a period of calm and contentment was in order.

I have a seared image in my memory of apostates outside a convention,when I was about 15 years old.
Everyone exiting put up a great pantomime display of not even letting their eyes fall upon such evil, lest they be turned to a pillar of salt.
Hands shot up, shielding faces from the utterances of the servants of the sulpherous one.
Later, when I sought information regardings the Witnesses History, it was a great leap for me to purchase..no, even touch an "apostate " book, many years before I was ready to open the Satanic pages of such a publication.When I finally did...of course, nothing happened.

So things were very laid back under the pastor, then the boom and steel boot came down under Rutherford, then in the 40s 50s it got slack again,even thru the 60s, in the 70s things got tense again.
Ive never heard the opinion that the 50s were lax before, but then, iVe never heard a dub talk about the 50s before.Theyre like...a forgotten period.
Larc. What is your understanding re these periods of shifting tension/ relaxation?

Well it is a public holiday long weekend here. So, maybe hes out in the bush by the Murray river with a VB in one hand and a fishing rod in the other.

"The Time is at Hand". Especially chapter on "Parallel Dispensations".
Its a background into the current interpretation of the 1914 "Kingdom" and the 1918 "Ressurection".
